Yakama Nation Harvest Management

Under the Treaty of 1855, the Yakama Nation reserved the right to fish, hunt and gather and other rights at all usual and accustomed places. This includes the preservation of fish habitat at all usual and accustomed fishing places. 

The Yakama Nation manages fisheries resources to ensure continued access by Yakama members to fulfill their ceremonial, subsistence and commercial needs.  This treaty reserved right includes the right to have fish present to harvest, at all usual and accustomed places.

Klickitat River Fall chinook and Coho returns are expected to be good and commercial sales
are open.  Therefore, the Fish and Wildlife Commitee EXPANDS the Klickitat River fishery
As of July 21,the Zone 6 treaty catch guideline has been exceeded.  Therefore,
the F&W Commitee hereby close the Platform H&L Fishery in the Columbia River
There are 48 havestable sturgeon available in the John Day Pool.  Therefore, the
F&W Committee authorizes a commercial sturgeon setline season in the John Day Pool
The Fish & Wildlife Committee authorizes the opening of the Klickitat 
River fishery from noon Tuesdays to 6pm Saturdays starting
July 3, 2018 through6pm December 29, 2018
YN fishing opportunity for lamprey exists at Willamette Falls.  
Please see attached regs and permit application.  Permit must be turned into Raemelle for signature. 
The Fish & Wildlife Committee has authorizes another summer commercial
gillnet opening in Zone 6 from 6am Monday July 2 - 6pm Friday July 6, 2018

Due to the continued low spring chinook returns to the Leavenworth National Fish
Hatchery, the Fish and Wildlife Committee is closing the fishery on the Icicle River.
