Title 32 FWLO 32.10.05 GG Original Definition: A “set net,” “hoopnet,” or “setbag net” means a bag-shaped net made of wire, monofilament, or twine webbing, attached to a metal or wooden hoop no larger than twenty-six (26) feet in circumference which is fixed in place from platforms for the purpose of catching migrating salmon and steelhead. Revision – Effective April 3, 2026 The Fish & Wildlife Committee authorizes the following update: “Setbag net” means a bag-shaped net made of wire, monofilament, or twine, attached to non-rigid material not more than sixty-feet (60) in circumference which is fixed in place from platforms for the purpose of catching migrating salmon and steelhead.” Gear Limits per Platform (Section 1.D.3 of T45-025): No more than three (3) nets may be set on a single platform. Three (3) nets are allowed only if each is twenty-six (26) feet in circumference. If any net is sixty-feet (60) in circumference, only one (1) net may be used on that platform. Regulations are pursuant to Title 32.14 of the Revised Law & Order Code of the Yakama Nation. Authority to enforce these regulations is provided under Section 32.18.05 of the Code. Violations of any of these regulations are punishable under Section 32.18.05 of the Code.
