Welcome to the Yakama Nation Fisheries (YNF) State Route 207 Project Summary Webpage.
This webpage provides a summary of the background and technical information the YNF Upper Columbia Habitat Restoration Project (YNF UCHRP) is using to develop salmon habitat restoration actions in the stretch of Nason Creek abutting the Lake Wenatchee Highway (SR 207) north of Cole's Corner in Chelan County, Washington. The YNF UCHRP has partnered with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest (OWNF) to address on-going salmon habitat impairment and highway functionality concerns for a segment of SR 207 that remains a high priority WSDOT Chronic Environmental Deficiency site.

MARCH 21, 2023 COMMUNITY MEETING
On March 21, 2023 a well attended public meeting was held by the YNF UCHRP at the Lake Wenatchee Rec Club. The following presentation was provided to attendees at the meeting to describe the purpose and need for restoration work involving SR 207. Attendence included staff from WSDOT and the OWNF, as well as project engineers under contract with the Yakama Nation for this project.
1. Restore quality salmon habitat and habitat sustaining natural processes in a high priority restoration segment of Nason Creek (see 2021 UCRTT Habitat Prioritization Strategy for more information).
2. Reduce and/or eliminate stream system impacts to the Highway 207 roadway in a manner that preserves roadway integrity and protects the traveling public.
3. Address Washington State Department of Transportation Chronic Environmental Deficiency sites along SR 207 in a cost effective manner that permanently eliminates or mitigates the environmental deficiencies.
Based on the technical information and documents provided below the YNF UCHRP, WSDOT, and USFS are considering constructing the following roadway re-alignment in 2025:
